Here at The Marlowe Theatre, our Creative Projects team want to work with you, your school and your students.
Throughout the year we provide education and performance opportunities for both teachers and students, working alongside our professional programme of work.
These opportunities can create networks with other local schools, support career development and help you inspire your young people.
Our workshops and talks illustrate to students the work and creativity that goes into putting on a production, and gives them a chance to get creative too – developing specific skills in dance, drama, musicals and physical theatre.
Royal Shakespeare Company
We work closely with a number of local schools through our Learning And Performance Network and Associate Schools Programme run in partnership with the Royal Shakespeare Company. The three-year programmes are targeted towards schools who want to develop and improve access to Shakespeare, and to deliver the best teaching in the classroom through active drama techniques.
Each year of the programme we work with up to 10 schools from across the county, led by a hub school. Our two hub schools currently are Canterbury Academy and King Ethelbert School, Birchington, who lead an inspiring group of primary and secondary schools.
For students, the programme involves dynamic ways to learn about Shakespeare, artist-led projects, and performance opportunities at The Marlowe Theatre, in our local community and at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
See some of the fantastic performances here and if you’d like more information of how to apply please get in touch.
