Three soaring works, including A Ceremony Of Carols.
Celebrating their 20th anniversary, Richard Alston Dance Company return with a programme that includes a much anticipated reprise of A Ceremony Of Carols, which premiered at our theatre to huge acclaim in 2012.
The music for A Ceremony Of Carols will again be performed live by the Canterbury Cathedral choir, conducted by David Flood, Director of Music. As will Richard Alston’s brand new work Rejoice In The Lamb, which receives its world premiere in Canterbury.
Rejoice In The Lamb is perhaps Benjamin Britten’s most joyous piece, setting the eccentric words of Christopher Smart to create a marvellously idiosyncratic work.
Also featured is Illuminations, revived for Britten’s centenary last year, which paints a vivid picture of the wild young genius Arthur Rimbaud.
