TUE 20 & SAT 24 NOV

Glyndebourne Tour 2012 presents

Le nozze di Figaro (The Marriage Of Figaro)

MAIN AUDITORIUM

Michael Grandage’s handsome production of Britten’s brutal classic is as good as opera can get. THE INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY on Billy Budd

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

A new production transferring direct from Festival 2012.

Director Michael Grandage returns to Glyndebourne for the first time since making his opera debut with the acclaimed Billy Budd in 2010. Opening as part of the Glyndebourne Festival 2012, this new production will transfer direct to the Tour with a new cast of rising stars.

For Mozart, constantly chafing at the restrictions imposed by his aristocratic patrons, the story of servants outwitting their master had immediate appeal. He responded with music that is unrivalled in its beauty and characters with depth and passion, who still ring true.

Sung in Italian with English supertitles.
